Lake Chapala - The New Trophy Bass Lake In Mexico?

Our latest report from our club anglers on the fishing in Lake Chapala:

Here are some pics of the bass we caught in Lake Chapala on Aug 24th. Pictured are me (John Walker) and Steve Kaye (big daddy fisherman from Alabama).

We had 2 fish weighing at about 10 lbs each, smallest fish was about 2 1/2 lbs and quite a few were in the 4-6 lb category. Total: 40 bass

It was all catch and release and a lot of work and fun!

Information on the Status of Aqua Milpa Reservoir

The first one on the list is the study that is Aguamilpa specific and in English, so most helpful. The rest are sites that I used for background education and/or confirmation of what I read in the above.

TACKLE LOANER PROGRAM

Many of our visitors either do not bring their fishing gear or find out about fishing opportunities after they arrive. Some have visitors and do not have tackle for them. Whatever the reason, the Ajijic Fishing Club has the answer. Club members have donated fishing gear and tackle to be provided on loan for those needing it. We are providing complete packages of tackle including rods, reels, lines and tackle boxes complete with all the hooks, lures, etc. you will need for your trip, all at no cost. At the present time only freshwater tackle is available. The loaner program is open to anyone. To get a loaner package just contact Jack Carson. He will assist you in choosing the best gear for your trip.

The only thing that is required is a deposit of 300 pesos per package. Cost of any lost or damaged equipment will be deducted from the deposit. You can keep the tackle for up to a week.

Any donations to the club are greatly appreciated.
